Luana Is Already Singing The Hills Are Alive

This month has been slower than others, but the rhythm has picked up lately with three projects.

FullSizeRenderI teamed up with a new production company Iron Heyoka for the surprise project (since we’re calling it that). It’s moving forward pretty fast. I’m mostly excited about this one, seeing the results and bringing a baby I’ve been waiting for, for the last two years, to action.

At the same time, the Sound of Music show is coming up. Luana and I met up with Guy, the production manager from the UK, to touch base on some points.
We move from mails and documents to on ground production on Saturday.
The challenge this time is managing a whole team for a show, from A to Z.
This is not just a one night concert, and I’m not just managing the stage or assisting the production manager.
Let’s hope all goes well and I won’t have to hide under a rock after that.

As for Mashrou’ Leila
The guys have been working hard on their fourth album. I guess I’m just proud to just watch that journey.
They also managed to launch a campaign with Absolut, which will allow the public to write lyrics and create a storyboard with the band for an upcoming single.
Which explains the #ma3Leila tag (#withLeila).
Unfortunately, having the Sound Of Music show at the same time of their next concert dates, I won’t be able to join them in Paris and Torino.

Loop The Summer

Last week I got a call from my old boss, JC, to work on Byblos Festival‘s production again with the Buzz team. And of course, I can’t turn that down. The team is nice and the line up is amazing: Beirut, Massive Attack, Stromae, Lang Lang, Yanni (coming back this year – one of the coolest crews I worked with, so can’t wait to see them again), Epica, Marcel Khalifé, Mulatu Astatke, Ibrahim Maalouf and Guy Manoukian.
Delta Sound are on the job again too, and I got Edith and Georgy on it this time as my help with Savio and Roy. July and August will be good.

But first thing first, I’m finishing up the last deal I’ve got with Eduvation schools for the kids’ illustrations this month. And finalizing some details on my surprise projects I’ve been keeping from you for so long.

And here’s a small reminder of 4 a Cause‘s two years anniversary we had with a lot of our supporters and generous artists at B018.

That 4 a Cause Catch Up

Been working on some legal papers, bank account issues and the footage from the 4 a Cause events.
As a thank you to one of the bands, I’ve been working fast with our editor Farid to finish up Postcards‘ video.

This is their live performance, from last October at Music 4 a Cause, of their original Sleepless Nights, from their EP Lakehouse.

I’ve also been working on the website. Our designer is almost done with it, but meanwhile, a small video, the logo and sign ups are ready for you on there.

We’ll keep you posted on more to come.
It’s been a stressful month, but at the same time a chilled one. Go figure…
